Elizabeth Gay Obituary

WRIGHTSVILLE, GA. - Ms. Elizabeth (Beth) Brantley Gay was born into time on June 27, 1940 to the late Mrs. Virgiree and Mr. Coley Brantley in Johnson County, GA. 


She is preceded in death by her Son, Anthony “Ant” Gay; Parents, Virgiree and Coley Brantley; Brothers, Benjamin, Colon, Pruitt, and Clark; Sister, Nancy Jo Attaway; and a Special Niece, Faye Taylor.  


Beth was employed with Walters Jewelry Store and Southern Bell In Macon, GA. She enjoyed ceramics, arts and crafts, and crocheting. In the 1970’s Beth spent much of her time and energy volunteering at the Boys Club in Macon, GA. 

Beth was United in Holy Matrimony to Billy Joe Gay. 

In her 78th season of life, Beth answered the Master Call and gained her Heavenly Wings, while a resident at the Wrightsville Manor in Wrightsville, GA. 

Beth is survived by her loving children; Lee Gay of Wrightsville, GA., Cyndi Youngblood of Cedar Bluff, AL.; former husband, Billy Joe (Wynell) Gay of Wrightsville, GA.; A great niece, Krystal Newberry and her children; Tara Newberry and Tyler Boyette.   

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to: Wesley Chapel Building Fund, Care of: Billy Joe Gay, 115 River Road, Tennille, GA 31089.

The family will receive friends on Sunday April 7, 2019 from 2:00 P.M until the hour of the service at the Wesley Chapel Church. 

A Final Farewell Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday April 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Wesley Chapel Church, 1020 Watermelon Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096 with the Reverend Pastor Hugh Baxley, Officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Michael Brantley, Tyler Boyette, Clayton Jones, Terry Glover, Danny Garnto and Clay Garnto will Serve as Pallbearers.
