ORANGE, NEW JERSEY - HOWELL, Mr. Douglas Howell was born October 21, 1930 to the late Bert and Edna Howell in Sylva North Carolina.

Douglas grew up in Portsmouth Virginia where he attended I.C Norcom High School.

He united with the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. 

He was very talented and intelligent and made friends easily. 

In 1953 he was united in Holy matrimony to Lorene Howell with whom he attended school.

In 1961 he relocated to Newark New Jersey where He was employed with New Jersey Transit from 1968 until his retirement. He was also known as, “Jap” as many friends would call him.

He was known for his joyful personality and he will be truly missed.

Douglas entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2019.

He was preceded in death by a son; Melvin Douglas.

He leaves to cherish his memories Marvin, Derrick, Sharron, Candice, Latrecia, Tontalane, Bert, Deborah, Craig, Corey, grandchildren and a host cousins, nephews and other relatives and friends. 

Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Howell will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at the hour of 11:00 AM at Grace Christian in Atlanta, GA, followed by a Service on Thursday January 24, 2019 at the hour of 11:00 A.M. in  Orange, New Jersey.
