LJ "Tank" Brown

"Like a ship that has left its mooring and sailed bravely out to sea; someone close to us has sailed away in calm serenity, such was the passing of our beloved LJ "Tank" Brown transitioned from earth to eternity leaving a great void in the hearts of all who loved him on Saturday December 28, 2019.

Friday Februray 11, 1944 a baby boy was born to the late Mr. AJ and Lillian (Culbreath) Brown in Johnson County, GA.

Many affectionately called him "Tank". He was united in holy matrimony to the late Mattie Butler Brown; to this union one child was born, Lillian Brown.

"Tank" was preceded in death by his daughter, Lillian Brown; three brothers, Levie Brown, Wilson Brown and Rudolph Brown

He was very friendly and full of life until his health failed. He was educated at Tucker School and Doc Kemp School.

"Tank" accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He worked various jobs and was a gifted mechanic like all the other Brown Brothers.

His memory will live in the hearts of his daughter Maxine (Michael) Hudson, a son, Willie Erwin; eight grandchildren; seven brothers, BJ (Dorothy) Brown, Leroy (Mary Jane) Moye, JB (Sandra) Brown, AJ (Linda) Brown, Willie (Arlene) Brown, Adolph (Gladys) Brown and Frankie Brown; seven sisters, Annie Bessie Brown, Annie (Pedro) Whitley, Lillie Horn, Bessie Brown, Daisy Brown, Arlene (Issac) Bivens and Alisa (Glenn) Darrisaw; a devoted niece, Felicia (Randall) Graddy, a devoted sister in law, Janice Butler Dixon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday January 3, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Celebration of Life Service for Mr. LJ "Tank" Brown will be held on Saturday January 4, 2020 at the hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Brazeal Chapel Holiness Church, 1440 Brazeal Circle, East Dublin, GA 31027. Committal Service will follow in the MC Memorial Church Cemetery, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
