Obituary

 Ms. Saundra was born May 10, 1948 in New York City, NY to Henry and Ruth (Jackson) Treadwell. She spent her early years in Fayetteville North Carolina with her grandmother, Mrs. Isabella (Shaw) Treadwell along with her aunts, uncles and many cousins. Saundra would spend her summers in NYC with her parents and her favorite aunt Mrs .Ella McGruder, affectionately called “Aunt Ellen”.

She met her high school sweetheart, CeOtis Robinson Sr. In 1969  they were united in holy matrimony. A year later in 1970 a  beautiful baby boy, CeOtis Jr was born.

Saundra met and fell in love with Leroy King . From this union , they were blessed with a baby girl Tajuana Charmaine King.

She graduated from Charles Evans Hughes HS with a commercial arts diploma. While employed at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Saundra received a full scholarship from Local 1199 Health and Hospital union. She obtained a B.S.in Health Services Administration from Lehman College.

Saundra loved her jazz. She would travel to jazz venues and festivals around the country. Living  in Harlem, she enjoyed going to jazz clubs and concerts.  While living on Broad Street in Newark NJ, she was in a jazz club. Saundra loved to travel, whether it was a trip to Paris or cruising.  She wanted to see the world. An avid reader, her kindle was loaded with hundreds of books as well as the ones in her library. She was also organizing her bookcases. Sunday was her "disconnect from technology day", her day with music and a book.

Saundra enjoyed cooking, Sometimes planning menus for weeks, then cooking for days, especially cakes. Saundra would have tables of food with more pots bubbling in the kitchen.

Saundra joined her son CeOtis in Jonesboro Ga., in 2013, eventually moving into a house. She was happy that "no one was walking over her head". At one time, she considered growing her own herbs, having a small garden. She loved looking out to her backyard and seeing the birds, enjoying nature. She also ran in mini marathons (Cyber), a 5k in Atlantic City and walked for exercise and leisure. Her motto was "Divalicous".

Saundra is predeceased by her parents Henry and Ruth Treadwell, Her grandmother Isabelle, Aunt Ellen, Ceotis Sr. and Leroy King Jr.

She is survived by her children CeOtis Jr Robinson of Riverdale, GA, Tajuana King, her "grand-boos" Stephanie King and Tanaysha King; her sister, Lorraine; her cousin, Valerie Swygert and a host of family and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis with the concern of health and safety of the family, friends and community the family has limited services during this time and will celebrate her life with a private celebration of life service. LIVE SCREAMING of the service will be published at a later date. A public memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Saundra Robinson will be held at a later date.
