Anthony McPhee Obituary

McDONOUGH, GA -

It was a Thursday, June 1st, 1967, in Fort Pierce, Florida that the dinner topic for Reuben & Grace McPhee was the fine, chocolate, and handsome baby boy that was born as the seventh of eight children. They decided to name him "Anthony Byron" meaning "worthy of praise." Maybe for this reason he loved to sing. It was how he strengthened and prepared himself to fight serious battles in his life. Anthony was a fun-loving, popular child among his siblings and friends. He was always the life of the party.

Anthony was known as "Tony." He was a graduate of Westwood High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. After completing high school, he attended ITT in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he obtained an Associates Degree in Computer Science. Later, he changed directions and taught himself carpentry. In time, with experience, he became a contractor and businessman.

As an entrepreneur he was owner and operator of KAM Global Foundation for over twenty years. He modeled the true meaning of an honest, hard working, dedicated man who left a lasting impression on his family and business associates.

Anthony willingly gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at the tender age of 12, at the Macedonia Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ft. Pierce, Florida. He attended Tri-City Seventh-day Adventist Church in McDonough, Georgia, for over eleven years. There he served faithfully in many capacities. Until his passing, Anthony served as a dedicated Men's Ministry Leader, Music Ministry Leader, and also established "Genesis" the adult choir.

He had a passion for helping the homeless, seniors, widows, and youth. His last attempted mission was to organize a food giveaway, and to register community members to vote in October.

On June 30, 2002, he married the loyal and courageous Kimberly Renée Gatson. To this union they welcomed one child, Kameron Myles on August 16, 2009. Anthony was a foster dad to six teenage boys who greatly respected him and considered him a father. He showed them how to engage in the community by taking them downtown Atlanta to feed the homeless, to play basketball and softball with his church, and also to work with him to teach them his trade. Eleven years later, on occasion they would call just to check in.

In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed the company of his family and close friends. He loved spending time with his son, outdoor activities, watching sports, and vacationing with family. Tony's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. He loved to entertain and went to great lengths to ensure that everyone had an enjoyable time.

Anthony fought long and hard while hospitalized for over two weeks. On Friday, October 16, 2020, at Henry Piedmont Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia he entered into a peaceful rest. His battle ended.

Anthony will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his wife, and unconditional love for his son Kameron, his relatives, and his church family. He took pride in providing the best for his family, and mastered being a true friend. Family, as well as friends, will miss his strength, infectious smile, and laughter. His life was full and he was truly sincerest in heart. The memory of his existence will forever be woven into the lives of those who were blessed to know him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his dedicated loving wife, Kimberly McPhee; one son, Kameron "KAM" McPhee, both of McDonough, his parents, Mr. Reuben and Mrs. Grace McPhee of Fort Pierce, Florida; two sisters, Ms. Regina McPhee, Mrs. Cassandra (Ronnie) Green both of Fort Pierce, Florida; five brothers, Mr. Reuben McPhee, Jr. of Fort Pierce, Florida, Mr. Alvin (Karen) McPhee of Stockbridge, GA, Mr. Willis (Peggy) McPhee of Fort Pierce, Flordia, Mr. Gregory McPhee of Kuwait and Mr. Thomas McPhee of Dallas, Texas, a host of nieces nephews, aunts, uncles, Tri-City SDA Church members, other relatives and friends. Anthony Byron McPhee will be profoundly and sadly missed, yet lovingly remembered by all.
